This feature can be a valuable tool for ensuring clarity and resolving potential disputes. However, always be mindful of legal restrictions related to call recording in your area.

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhakar Comments on Cooperative Scam Investigation, Warns Against Political Interference

Home Minister Ramesh Lekhakar has expressed concern over political interference in the ongoing investigation into the cooperative scam. Speaking during the inauguration of the newly constructed building of the District Administration Office in Rampur, Palpa, Minister Lekhakar criticized individuals from various political parties for making reckless statements that could influence the probe. He emphasized that no one, regardless of their political affiliation or stature, would be spared if found involved in criminal activities.

Minister Lekhakar's comments seemed directed at the leadership and activists of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Rasp), who, according to him, have attempted to interfere with the investigation. He made it clear that the investigation would be impartial, stating, "There will be no distinction between big or small individuals in the investigation process. Anyone involved will be brought to justice."

He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Congress-CPN-UML coalition government to eliminate corruption and establish good governance in the country.

In addition, Minister Lekhakar highlighted the government's dedication to maintaining peace and security, stressing that without these fundamental elements, development and progress in all sectors would be severely impacted.

Tribhuvan University Land Controversy: Lab School Run Under 'Guthi' Faces Scrutiny

controversy has erupted surrounding a private lab school operating on Tribhuvan University (TU) land, which has been running under a "Guthi" (trust) led by political and educational figures, including Congress Treasurer Umesh Shrestha and former Education Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha. The lab school, established to provide teaching practice for TU's Faculty of Education students, has been operating since 1999 under a 15-year agreement with the Ministry of Education. However, after the agreement expired, TU has repeatedly demanded the land back, which has been met with resistance.

The issue has escalated, with the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police launching an investigation into the matter. They have pointed out that both the private school operators and the government institutions involved may be liable for legal action due to the unauthorized use of public land for private schooling without the necessary approvals.

The investigation has revealed that the Ministry of Education, without consulting TU, granted permission for the use of university land for operating a private school. It was found that the private school was collecting fees from students and parents, operating as a business without the consent of the landowner. The investigation has called for the removal of the school from TU’s land, and further action is expected.

The commission has also noted that the school operators were unable to provide evidence that the land had been legally leased to them by TU. As a result, the conclusion has been reached that the school should be removed from the premises, and the matter may be escalated for further legal procedures.

China, India reach six-point consensus on boundary question

In a significant development, the Special Representatives of China and India on the boundary issue held their 23rd meeting in Beijing on Wednesday, marking the first such meeting in five years. The discussions resulted in a six-point consensus aimed at fostering peace and stability along their shared border while promoting stronger bilateral ties.

The consensus underscores both countries' commitment to safeguarding peace in border regions and advancing their long-term relationship. The representatives reaffirmed their resolve to seek a fair, reasonable, and mutually acceptable solution to the boundary dispute, following the political guiding principles established in 2005.

Key outcomes of the meeting include an agreement to enhance border area management, refine trust-building measures, and expand cross-border exchanges. Both sides also agreed to prioritize the resumption of Indian pilgrimages to China's Xizang (Tibet), further strengthening people-to-people ties.

In an encouraging move, the two countries also decided to fortify the special representatives meeting mechanism, with the next round of talks set to take place in India next year.

Highlighting the global implications, both China and India emphasized the importance of a stable, predictable, and constructive relationship for regional and international peace. This meeting marks a critical step towards a harmonious and cooperative future for both nations, paving the way for deeper collaboration and stability in Asia.

Parliament Winter Session Day 20 LIVE Updates: High Drama as Ambedkar Row Halts Proceedings

The 20th day of the Parliament Winter Session witnessed intense drama as both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were adjourned until 2 PM following relentless protests over remarks related to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The row has escalated into a major flashpoint, with MPs from both the Opposition and the BJP exchanging heated accusations on the floor of the House.

Opposition leaders have demanded an unconditional apology, asserting that the remarks undermine the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. On the other hand, BJP MPs have accused the Opposition of exploiting the issue for political mileage, leading to a fiery stalemate.

The session, which has already been marred by disruptions over other contentious matters, saw a complete halt to legislative business this morning. Slogans echoed across the chambers as leaders stood their ground, refusing to relent.

Observers note that this standoff underscores the deepening divide in Parliament, with critical legislative discussions taking a backseat. The government is expected to hold talks with stakeholders to restore order, but the path to resolution remains uncertain.

Stay tuned for more updates as the Parliament resumes later today, amid hopes for meaningful dialogue and resolution.
